Goals: Jan 1-7

This week finds me ecstatic and hopeful. Without a specific plan, I have found that I have made small inroads on my NY goals.

Health: Exercise. I completed 1/4 of the 1+ mile hikes that I wanted to do this month. I actually hiked 1.4 miles as I parked away from the trail entrance due to wet conditions (wet sand/mud). Three more to accomplish this month’s goal. I also signed up for a group hike in February at Phinizy Swamp (2+ miles).

Health: Explore other cuisines, increase knowledge of healthy eating. I made a new dish ~ Shakshuka. It is a Northern Africa/Middle Eastern dish with vegetables and eggs. Really tasty and delicious. And, I used cilantro as a garnish. It was suggested along with parsley…made the dish look colorful…and was a garnish flavor that I usually avoid. LOVED it on this dish. I have a second variation of the same dish to try another time.

Community: Sharing events/activities with others. I started off this week with the cheese tasting party. Shared it with 2 neighbors and 2 of my Leather house. Both sharings (same night with some overlap) were fun and brought joy to me.

Interests: Photography. Actually picked up Canon and took pictures of evening sky on Wednesday. I have uploaded them to my computer.

Interests: Writing. I have written (or edited) a blog this week on four separate days with the result of three additional blogs completed (this one included). Wow! I haven’t done that much writing in months. I also wrote a review of the cheeses we tried at the cheese-tasting for my FB feed.

Interests: Genealogy. I signed up for an extension class on genealogy, and I started reading a Genealogy 101 book last month that continues. I am getting email newsletters from the Clan Davidson Society that I need to read yet. I started looking at my Ancestry tree and reviewed facts for Mom, Dad, and myself.

Others: Camping. I have found an event that I signed up for and put it in my calendar. I need to make a reservation for that event.

Others: Scotland. I made a decision to connect the hiking to the Scotland trip. I finished a memoir of a Scotland trip (Scotland With a Stranger).

Spiritual: Nature. I am counting hiking here also.

For an unplanned start to goal achievement, I am both impressed and excited about this list!
