Finding Me, Part 2

In the past couple of weeks, I have found pieces of me popping up unexpectedly!

For example, finding Irn Bru at the new Publix grocery store. It’s a carbonated Scottish soft drink. I first discovered it when I was preparing for my trip to Scotland. And, I haven’t tasted it since I got back two years ago. I bought the last two bottles in the store…and I am wondering why I haven’t continued drinking it. I enjoy it. Although I do know why I haven’t been drinking it, it was because the only Publix in town until now has been on the south side of Aiken and not in my usual route of travel. The new one is next to the area my gym is in. I will be passing it twice a week.

Another example, I realized that I miss the Chair Yoga class that I used to take prior to adopting my new dog. I also realized that the CLL classes (life-long learning at USCA – Aiken) are not interesting to me any longer. So, this year, I am only signing up for two at the most: the class at the planetarium (because there is always magic in the stars) and maybe the line dancing class (because it challenges me to move). And, instead, I am going to explore the yoga classes at the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays (because before Darla I found some increased benefit in chair yoga and this will increase my exercising from two to four days a week).

Other decisions made these past several months have been to share my spiritual journey with Sharon, my Friday coffee friend and others as it becomes appropriate; adopt a dog (American Staffordshire breed), which limits my traveling so freely; and focus on my health (eating and exercising). So far, I have succeeded in moving each of these decisions along and am beginning to see the results in my life.
