Beauty

I created this draft back in October of 2023. I had been wandering in one of my favorite spots, the foraging ponds of the Audobon Society. On that particular trip, I was amazed at the beauty of what I was seeing and spent some of my time trying out various picture settings with my camera.

Then things happened in my life to send me on a spin. And, as usual, winter came along when I get a bit contemplative and start trying to figure out where I am going and how I need to get there.

Last year (2023) I tried to schedule time for all my hobbies and want-to-be hobbies. Most of that just did not work well for me. I seem to be one who needs to be inspired to work on something.

Shooting works for regularly scheduling, and I got quite a bit good a getting my shots in the middle of the body. I have decided that, after my trip to Scotland (which will be long), I will go weekly to shoot rather than every other week. The good thing is that I am more comfortable with my pistol and no longer shake when I take the gun in hand.

But ancestry research, photography, and writing often took a back seat to other plans and activities that I was engaged in. I do enjoy taking courses and had signed up for quite a few between the local senior center and the USC-A, but I need to find a way to moderate my involvement so that I have time for other things I am wanting to do.

Now, what does all this have to do with beaut?. Beats me. I just started typing and this is what has emerged from my soul. I am convinced that life is good. That beauty is more than just a pretty flower or a rainbow. It is all of life.

Being involved with life…taking courses, having hobbies and doing them, interacting with others, taking time out, and finding ways to sanctify our lives…it is all beautiful.

May each of us find the way, the path, that we are to walk and proceed on our way.
