The old and the new

The Old. I still have some old projects that I am working on…well, working on one of the two, that is. After Ed died, I decided to go through all our CDs and sort out the music that I did not enjoy…and pass those on. I made a valiant effort for a couple of months, but, as some of the music left me in tears, I quit on that project.

The other project was to go through all his printed recipes, hoping to find the ones that resonated with me as his. I found initially that he had printed copies of the some recipes over and over. As I was trying to find the particular ones I enjoyed, it was overwhelming. So I quit on that one, too.

This year I found that I just started reviewing the CDs that I had not yet heard. It has been a pleasure. And, I am down to only 40+ to go. I see the end coming. Sadly, I have found some empty covers…and some CDs without covers.

The New. I have started working on the shed – both sides. The tool side is cleaner, but now I need to organize the shelves and finishing cleaning one corner. At least I am not longer afraid of entering that side.

One thing I want to tackle is the paint cabinet. I need to learn whether the old paint that Ed stored in it is still good and usable or not. I also want to make a decision about the old filing cabinet stored in there.

The office side has been cleaned out. I donated the box of golf balls etc to First Tee. That finishes the golfing equipment clean out. I have the bowling balls, bags, and shoes up for sale. No takers yet. I might need to donate that stuff, too. Miscellaneous exercise equipment will go to recycling, I hope. Bicycle helmets up for sale. Also no takers, so might be headed for donation.

Floor vacuumed…at least it was. Yesterday my neighbor took the drafting desk apart. Now I have to vacuum that side and repair the wall. Also might need to paint. My neighbor said that he could patch the wall with no problem, but I might just try to do it myself.

I’m wanting a small sturdy table on which to put the dorm size refrig, so I can take down the long table; a table and lamp for the reading nook; and a comfortable chair for reading. I have a desk and desk chair for the work area already.

Tackling the new projects is one step at a time. Tackling the old is now or later…for now.
