I have started on a new adventure. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it? When I usually think of adventuring, I think of going out exploring. Well, this fits the bill, but I am staying home.
I have decided to try being a host for AirBnB.
Now, this is an adventure because it is something I have never done…as well as something I know little about how to do. I expect it to be a bit of like having a friend stay over and yet not. And, there is so very much to learn!
My room is ready. Oh, it will need to be dusted and vacuumed the day before my first guest arrives. (I do have a dog, so dusting and vacuuming usually are necessary even after I DUST and VACUUM!)
And, I have 3 reservations already, thanks to the Masters Golf Tournament. However, I am thinking that those reservations are like my trial run…my shake out cruise to discover any issues. (Although I am hoping not to have any!)
Two of my reservations are by others who are already hosts for AirBnB. Is it too forward to hope I can get some pointers from them to improve my skills?
The one thing that amazes me is that all 4 guests (one reservation will be 2 guests) are men. Do men travel more than women? Of course, that might be due to the event bringing them here…the Masters Golf Tournament.
My rates are cheap compared with the usual Masters week rates, but I am comfortable with that. I am new. This is a beginning of an adventure. It is a learning period. AND, next year may be different, price-wise.
My friends, who live two doors over from me, are aware of this adventure and will keep an eye out on me and my home. And, with my dog, I am not nervous about having unknown men in my home. Maybe I should be, but I am not. Anyway, this all starts in April.
